Crowns Dentist in Naples

Naples Porcelain Crowns Dentist

When tooth decay or damage is severe, our Naples dentist will often recommend a porcelain crown to strengthen a patient’s tooth and improve its appearance. Dental crowns restore your problem tooth to its natural shape and size.

What Is a Crown?

Crowns are cap-like restorations that fit snugly over a damaged tooth, restoring both its function and appearance above the gum line.

At The Modern Dentist, we use crowns to restore damaged and misshapen teeth, as well as to protect weaker teeth from breaking or becoming further damaged.

Getting a Dental Crown

Crowns require at least two appointments. During the first appointment, we will:

  • Numb your tooth before any work begins
  • Clean the area thoroughly and remove any decay
  • Take an impression (mold) to create your custom crown
  • Install a temporary crown based on your impression

You will wear your temporary crown for two weeks until a dental lab finishes your permanent crown. During your second appointment, we will:

  • Remove your temporary crown
  • Thoroughly clean the tooth again
  • Fit your new crown permanently to your tooth

Our staff will provide you with complete instruction on how to properly care for your new crown, including proper oral hygiene habits and eating practices.
